Our Feb. 13th 2021 Chapter Meeting

Compatriot Rick Martin, our DeSoto Trace Chapter Registrar, was recently featured in the November  2019 issue of the local magazine Life & Home - Hot Springs along with his comrades in the Disabled American Veterans, James L. Whitby Chapter 5 Hot Springs.

WELCOME ABOARD recently approved new members Bruce Caverly, Gary Williams, Robert Jordan, and Art Kopkau. Bruce is a direct descendant of 2nd Lieutenant John Caverly, Col. Long's 1st New Hampshire Artillery Battalion 1777 & Signer of Association Test, 3 Sep 1776 and Gary is a direct descendant of Stephen Mapel​, Private, Capt. Jonathan Combs & James Barr's co., Col. Robert Nixon & Scudder's New Jersey regt., 31 Jul 1776. Robert is a descendant of Lt.Col. Nathaniel Jordan, Jr. Cumberland Co. Maine (Massachusetts) Militia and Art is a descendant of Private Benjamin Wood who served in the Massachusetts Militia during the Revolutionary War.

 

CONGRATULATIONS to Rick Martin who had 3 supplementals approved for his ancestors John Ulmer (1735-1809) Private, Capt. Phillip Martin Ulmer's Co., Col. Samuel McCobb's Regt., his son George Ulmer (1760-1844) Private, 4th Division, Glover's Brigade, Col. Vose's 1st Massachusetts Regt, Capt Abraham Hunt's Company Valley Forge muster rolls, and Moses Downing (1744-aft 1810) Capt E. Burr's 4th Co, Col. John Bailey 2regt., Valley Forge (on furlough) enlisted by Capt. Burr; enlistment, during war; also, descriptive list of men who re-enlisted subsequent to Sept. 30, 1779, to serve during the war, as returned by Seth Drew, Capt. They are Rick's 14th, 15th, & 16th Patriot ancestors!

CONGRATULATIONS to Bruce Caverly & Larry Huntzinger for their award of the Military Service Medal and listing on the  SAR National Military Service Veterans Corps roster.
