This program was the brain child of Doug Beed and Rick Martin and was started shortly after the death of Doug's mother who was a resident of Good Sam in 2014. Even though the current post commander has "discontinued" the VFW program in Nov. 2016, Past Commanders Rick Martin and Gene Rasure continue to meet on the 2nd Wednesday every month with our veterans at Good Sam with the Disabled American Veterans James L. Whitby Chapter 5 sponsoring the event; we owe these veterans our time and our respect. Although their ranks from the first meeting has diminished due to deaths there are still veterans attending and thankful for our being there! Semper Fi!

All Village veterans are welcome to visit with our veterans living at the Good Samaritan Complex, 121 Cortez Rd. HSV, AR 71909 on the 2nd Tuesday of each month (now in 2018) from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for coffee, snacks, and conversation.
